Warning: This contains potential spoilers Wonder Woman #13!i have gone Wonder Woman Fanatic for years, but if I hadn’t been a fan before, this single quote would have sparked my obsession with the Amazon princess. This quote comes from arguably the best of Tom King Wonder Woman The issue still, with the sheer badness woven throughout the narrative heightens its impact. It was a moment that resonated, cemented Diana Prince’s legendary status and left a lasting impression that I won’t soon forget.
By Tom King, Tony S. Daniel and Leonardo Pacirotti Wonder Woman #13 The epic continues supreme power The team-up trio of Damian Wayne, Diana Prince and Steve Trevor organize a prison break to free their fellow heroes wrongfully imprisoned by Amanda Waller.
Wonder Woman’s job in this mission is to stop the guards. While this would normally be light work for an Amazon warrior, he is currently facing a group of guards and gunmen in an overpowered, extremely mortal and vulnerable state. Yet, like everything else in Diana, He excelled, keeping guards at bay even by breaking his weapons and deflecting their shots with his armor.
Wonder Woman’s coldest line lands on Tom King’s supreme power Tie-in issue
“My name is Diana Prince. My mother was a queen. Now he is a god. I fight today under his protection. I wonder, friends… which God saves you?” – Wonder Woman #13
After the initial onslaught of bullets, Wonder Woman stood her ground, sword firmly held, declaring, “My name is Diana Prince. My mother was a queen. Now she is a god. I fight to protect her today. I wonder, friends… what god save you?” I couldn’t help but giggle as I read this line; its sheer infamy made me re-read it several times, following the high I felt the first time I read it. There is no doubt in my mind that this line will go down as one of the coolest lines of 2024.
Waller’s reaction to Grant’s troops makes this moment even better. A soldier immediately shouted, “Holy %@$%@.” Honestly, it’s a valid response when the person you just unloaded an entire clip on is still standing and then delivers a line like that. The other guards soon shouted with alarmed comments such as, “What… @$$@ do we do?” Their reaction widened my already impossibly big smile, adding the perfect cherry on top of the moment I was already obsessed with.
Wonder Woman just reminded me why she’s DC’s biggest badass
It’s not Diana Prince’s superpowers that make her special, it’s her enduring spirit
Besides Diana’s intense encounter with the guards, what follows is equally bad. Finally able to rest her broken body, Diana allows Steve to hold her while the other heroes finish their work. At this point, Steve scolds him for blocking the bullet with his weapon. Wonder woman you answer, “I needed to stand. And so I stood. It was necessary for me to hold. And so I held. It was necessary to set them free. And so they are free.”
This beautifully illustrates what makes powerful dialogue Wonder Woman He is special: not his power, but his indomitable will to do what has to be done. These qualities have become Diana’s trademark as much as her uniform, her lasso or her grace. Now, it’s delivered with more edge than what fans have come to expect (or hope for).
