While rock fans continue to debate the relevance and importance of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the show must go on and the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on October 19 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Loudspeaker announced the big performances happening at this year’s ceremony, and there are some really exciting performances to watch out for.
Big news this year is the all-star celebration of arena rockers Foreigner, who are inducted this year, along with Slash, Sammy Hagar, pop singer. Demi Lovatoand drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers Chad Smith is set to perform in tribute to the British rock band. Foreigner will also be performing, but wouldn’t you rather see those people perform Foreigner songs than Foreigner themselves?
Who is it? Roger Daltrey and country superstar (and recent metalhead) Keith Urban will pay tribute Peter Frampton. Dua Lipa will be honored Sheretc James Taylor will team up with country artists Kenny Chesney and: Mac McAnally: number a Jimmy Buffett tribute
One of the biggest questions about this year’s ceremony will be whether Ozzy Osbourne, who was already inducted as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006, is inducted for a second time. A Scottish tabloid a few days ago Daily post announced that he would be speaking at the ceremony, however Loudspeaker seems to suggest that it is still in the air. There has been no official confirmation that Osborne will perform.
Osborne has expressed a desire to speak in recent months, but whether he has the ability is another matter entirely. Back in March, Osbourne was asked about performing again, and while she said she wanted to, she also admitted she’s had trouble getting back on her feet. It would be great to see Osborne perform one more time, but I also hate seeing him push himself too hard.
The induction ceremony is scheduled to air live on Disney+ on October 19 at 7:00 PM EDT, and will then be available on-demand, followed by a New Year’s Day highlight on ABC.
