Transformers One Gives new meaning to the names “Autobots” and “Decepticons”. Featuring the origin of Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16’s corruption as Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) as well as his rise as Optimus Prime, former brothers-in-arms come to lead rival factions on the Transformers homeworld of Cybertron. To that end, the movie provides some interesting origins for the names of each side at the dawn of this great war that has just begun.

In the previous continuity, “Autobot” was simply short for “Automated Robotic Organism”. The same was true of Michael Bay’s live-action Transformer As well as voting rights.
