The announcement comes as Puerto Rico prepares to vote in the Nov. 5 gubernatorial election. Bud Rabbit, who helped get out the vote, is using the recent seventh anniversary of Hurricane Maria to address the political response to the disaster. As Remezcla points out, the song includes the lyrics in Spanish, “The palm tree they want to hang the country from, one of these days we’ll knock it down,” apparently referring to the ruler’s palm emblem.
