Benjamin Booker has announced his first album in seven years. Lower The New Orleans-based musician continues until 2017 A witnessand it will be released on January 24th on Booker’s new label, Fire Next Time Records. Booker co-produced the album with Kenny Segal, who will join the singer on a North American tour next year. Find those dates below.
Lower‘s lead single is “Lwa in the Trailer Park,” and it comes with a black-and-white music video, which you can watch below. “I especially connected with Paul Schrader’s work in creating this album,” Booker said in a press release about his visual. “Like some of his films, I wanted to look at the edge of a troubled character striving for transcendence. Now that I’m working on a series of related videos, Schrader has also been an influence in that arena, along with Jean-Pierre Melville; Le Samurai and Charles Burnett A killer of sheep“.
Last year, Booker starred in “Baby Steps,” a cut from Billy Woods and Kenny Segal. Maps. He also appeared on Armand Hammer’s “Doves,” co-producing the nearly nine-minute track with Segal.
