Many of Marvel’s iconic characters have become “venomized,” and Felicia is a perfect candidate for the process.




The Amazing Spider-Man #32 The creative team consists of Jeb Wells, Patrick Gleason, Marcio Menez and Joe Caramagna. The issue features the titular hero facing off against Kraven the Hunter and Queen Goblin (not to be confused with Madeleine Pryor’s Goblin Queen). More interesting than the issue, however, is a variant cover for it by Pablo Villalobos.

The cover featuring Black Cat was a retailer exclusive, but it has the potential to be one of Felicia Hardy’s best looks. While not the first Venomized version, it is still one of the best.

Symbiote Makeovers provide Marvel heroes and villains with stunning looks

Marvel’s Black Cat doesn’t have much in the way of powers in a traditional sense, but the ones she does have can be extra powerful if combined with a symbiote bond. Originally given to her by the Kingpin, Felicia has the power of misfortune, coupled with the ability to change probabilities. This does not always prove beneficial for him, especially when negatively affecting his allies. Transitioning between a life of crime and an ally of Marvel’s heroes, Black Cat’s minimal abilities will be enhanced by a symbiote bond and she will gain additional physical enhancements as a result of the merger.


Already Black Cat maintains a black and white color scheme, which already perfectly matches the symbiote. Part of what makes a Venomized Black Cat so attractive is that its basic appearance is upgraded, without losing much of what makes it so easily recognizable. This concept has been featured several times on variant covers, including one by Mark Brooks Black Cat #2 (2019) and the other for Guillaume March THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #16 (2015). Each of these has been exclusive to various events and stores including, ComicXposure, Comic Sketch Art, 616 Comics, Unknown Comics, Comic Traders, And Fandom Comic Shop.

Felicia’s on-off relationship with Spider-Man has always been overshadowed by his love of the masked life, his impressive thieving skills, and his streak of bad luck. Adding the Venom symbiote to the mix could cause even more problems between the two. Black Cat would be a much more formidable foe against anyone she might encounter if she had the chance to merge with a symbiote. He doesn’t have many alternative looks, sticking to his fur-trimmed black suit for decades. His biggest change came with the PS4 game’s costume, Spider-Man. Otherwise his fashion is generally stagnant compared to other Marvel characters.

The Venom makeover exudes sleekness, power and beauty at the same time. Mark Brooks also did a variant cover featuring Felicia alongside Anti-Venom and Carnage in the same issue as the Venom makeover in 2019. Each symbiote twist shows how incredible he’ll look with the potential to be a fan-favorite transfer. black cat Bonding with Venom would be his best new design, as it maintains his signature color scheme, but adds a fun, creepy twist.
