A cruel legend was released in 2009 and featured a massive metal soundtrack. A cruel legend had them all Black Sabbath and: Priest Judas to: mastodon and: King Diamondwith Children of Bodom and: Dark calm thrown in for good measure (and that barely scratches the surface).
A cruel legend was an action-adventure game with some real-time strategy and was developed by Double Fine Productions. The game follows Eddie Riggsvoiced and modeled Jack Blackwho runs into the musicians it sounds like Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne. so yes A cruel legend it was metal.
But will it ever be? Cruel legend 2? According to Double Fine Productions director and studio head Tim Shafferthey are still torn. The studio released a lengthy blog post to commemorate the 15thth anniversary of A cruel legend where they noted that Double Fine Productions is still on the fence.
“This Sunday turned 15th anniversary of A cruel legenda length of time that really worries all the people who worked on it,” wrote Double Fine Productions. Harper in the post. “The river of time demands everything. But if you’re lucky, you can do some things that leave a mark, and when it comes to our games here at Double Fine, it’s fair to say: cruelhas one hell of a legacy.
“My social media inbox gets pinged every day, and I think at least 30% of those messages are requests. Cruel legend 2. Eddie RiggsThe history of heavy metal derring-do has really stuck with fans over the years and continues to spawn new metalheads over time.
They added: “We have talked about it from time to time over the years, how could we not?”
Harper added later from quote Shaffer about a possible sequel by writing. “People ask Cruel legend 2 all the time and i’m worried about it team told me “I know some of them want it with the evolution of RTS and some just want it God of War with Eddie Riggs. I understand the logic of doing the second option, but the first one excites me much more.”
“Chad: [Dawson, Lead Programmer] had a few ideas, thinking less about player expectations and more about the huge range of options the studio could be excited about. “There’s so much world to explore that can be done in so many different ways,” he thought. It could be an RPG, it could be an RTS. Or even an auto tactician.’
So it’s more like a “when” than an “if.” Cruel legend 2 happens, doesn’t it?
