As much as CD Projekt Red wants to emphasize that it’s moving on Cyberpunk 2077, The studio can’t help but return to the game to make it more impressive. Already one of the most immersive role-playing games on the market, the studio is going the extra mile by adding some technological improvements that will go a long way in making Night City look more realistic than ever. Patch 2.13 contains some fantastic technologies that will appeal to PC players to take their game to the next level.

Posted on the official CDPR blog, Patch 2.13 adds support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with frame generationAn impressive piece of technology used to smooth out frame rates and make games run smoother than ever. The update adds support for Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3Which will increase the overall performance when used alongside the advanced ray-tracing system at 4K resolution. Finally, PC players will now be able to enable both DLAA and DLSS Ray reconstruction simultaneouslyEnsuring Night City’s dynamic lights look more realistic than ever.

What does this mean for Cyberpunk 2077?

Another major visual upgrade

Patch 2.13 has plenty of tech boosts for those who can run them, but the biggest addition is undoubtedly AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. The software enables certain GPUs to simulate additional frames, inserting between two established frames to create a smoother experience.. The technology isn’t perfect and players who want to use the feature are advised to do so with a monitor that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate otherwise there may be some issues with frame syncing.

Being able to turn on both DLAA and DLSS ray reconstruction can put a big strain on one’s GPU, so anyone looking to enable both settings should be aware that this may result in some performance hiccups. Having said that, with the right setup, Enabling both of them should result in sharper images at higher resolutionsBetter to take in the sights and sounds of the night city. Used alongside Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3, Cyberpunk 2077 4K resolution should run especially smoothly, even with a lot of action happening on screen.

What new features should the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 include?

CD Projekt Red North America is currently working on a sequel Cyberpunk 2077with Fanton Liberty Director Gabe Amatangelo is in charge of the follow-up. Recent reports have indicated that the team is looking to include multiplayer in the sequel, an understandable decision given the popularity of similar open-world sandboxes. Grand Theft Auto V. Beyond this being a bad choice, as it takes away from the player-driven focus of the campaign, I’d like to see an improvement in the romantic storylines by offering more to do with these characters than scripted cutscenes.
