Jane’s Addiction had one hell of a week. Note, vocalist Perry Farrell attacked the guitarist Dave Navarro on stage midway through the show at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA on September 13th. According to the video: Farrell went to Navarro and aggressively shouldered him, climbed in Navarro‘s face right after, and even punched the traveler in front of and Avery broke it

Jane’s Addiction subsequently apologized for the onstage incident and canceled their September 15th show in Bridgeport, CT. a day later Jane’s Addiction went on hiatus and canceled the rest of their tour dates. From the announcement Jane’s Addiction the group is said to have “made the difficult decision to spend some time as a band,” according to a statement Navarro, Perkinsetc Avery cited “an ongoing pattern of behavior and our singer’s mental health difficulties Perry Farrell“.

Farrell released his own statement shortly after, saying in part that “it’s only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarrofans, family and friends for my actions on Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point led to inexcusable behavior and I take full responsibility for how I chose to handle the situation.”

Then a few days after all of that, a new song, “True Love,” was released on all streaming services. Navarro has since commented on the single and the future Jane’s Addictionlaments the fact that they will likely never play together again.

“New Jane’s Addiction The track was released today, True Love,” said Navarro. “I’m proud of the work we did on this song, but equally saddened by the fact that you’ll probably never hear it live. I also want to publicly apologize to our group, Reptiles and their staff and to Love and rockets and their staff. Thank you for being our travel companions for as long as you have. I’m upset that it ended this way and that so many jobs were lost as a result. May all our hearts be restored together.”

So yeah, don’t hold your breath for another one Jane’s Addiction reunion
