Dean & Britta, the husband-wife duo of Galaxie 500’s Dean Wareham and Luna’s Britta Phillips, are teaming up with Sonic Boom to release a new holiday album. Joint LP, Our peacearrives on November 22 via Carpark. The first preview is a cover of Willie Nelson’s “Pretty Paper” by Britta and Sonic Boom, and you can watch the Lianna Kaiser-directed video for it below.

“It was a Roy Orbison hit in 1963 and it’s a beautiful song, but the lyrics about a man sitting alone on the sidewalk outside a department store selling tapes and paper are sad,” Wareham explained in a statement. “Britta arranged it in our synth-hive style for the Noah Baumbach/Greta Gerwig film. Mistress America“.

Our peace is a 14-track record that brings together a wide range of holiday songs “filtered through their musical imaginations”. It follows Dean & Britta’s 2020 album, Quarantine tapesand Sonic Boom’s collaborative 2022 LP with Panda Bear, Restorewhich has since received dub and mariachi versions.
