In a press release, Alex Kapranos said about the song. “It’s about having a brave response when you feel the fabric of existence falling apart around you. Being brave is the opposite. Looking over the edge of non-existence and saying Yes! Not today, thank you.”
From the album he added: “Making this record was one of the most life-affirming experiences I’ve had, but it’s called. Human fear. Fear reminds you that you’re alive. I think we all depend on the noise it gives us. How we react to it shows how human we are. here’s a bunch of songs that look for the thrill of being human through fear. It’s not something you’d necessarily notice at first listen.”
Human fearreleased through Domino, is Franz Ferdinand’s first album to feature drummer Audrey Tate and guitarist Dino Bardo. Songwriter Julian Corey joined Kapranos and Bob Hardy on songwriting duties, and the new line-up will tour Europe early next year.
