My Lady Jane Star Edward Blumel reacts to George RR Martin’s surprise endorsement of the canceled Prime Video series. The 2024 show retells the life of the titular short-lived English monarch in a more fantastical reality amid the ascendancy crisis leading up to his own experience on the throne. Blumell portrays Lord Guildford Dudley, Lady Jane Grey’s lover and one of the shape-shifting Ethians who find themselves oppressed by the powerless Verity ruling class. Although My Lady Jane Having remained defunct for nearly a month, there have been many fan-led efforts to revive it. Now, taking to his personal Instagram story, Blumel shared a screenshot of Martin’s blog, where A Song of Ice and Fire The author shares her support for the series, her disappointment at its cancellation, and the petition she started to save it. Despite being a critical success for Prime Video, it could be argued that the streaming platform didn’t give the series a fair chance to thrive. That didn’t stop Prime Video from making other big new 2024 releases, though.
