Harley Quinn’s true alignment is complicated
When Harley first burst onto the comic book scene, she was infamously the Joker’s partner-in-crime. For years, she willingly got away with her heinous crimes while she was in a toxic and abusive relationship with the Clown Prince of Crime. But after years of putting up with the Joker, she finally struck out on her own and began forging a path separate from the Harlequin of Hate. Of course, early in his journey of self-discovery, Harley Quinn was still committing crimes and generally being a force for chaos.
But Harley gradually finds herself working on the right side of the law, teaming up with heroes like Power Girl, Wonder Woman, and even Batman. Instead of hunting innocent people, he started going after the bad guys (or at least the ones who were real jerks). Although he is not officially included in the bat-family, Harley Quinn developed a strategy of sorts with them and partnered with Gotham’s heroes on various occasions. Harley also featured in John Kent’s brief Justice League as a hero Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths.
It goes without saying that Harley has always been on the straight and narrow. In the current Harley Quinn series, Harley has revisited her supervillain life, even bringing back her classic jester look and teaming up with other costumed criminals. Of course, this was part of a new effort to help the villains’ mental health and ensure that their crimes were actually helping their lives. He got in trouble with Tim Drake for this stunt, but Harley Quinn is forced to team up with Boy Wonder When a new police officer with an anti-vigilante agenda starts targeting them.

Harley Quinn is complicated but she’s ultimately good for Gotham
Granted, the only reason Harley even went to Gotham was because she wanted to join the giant street fight. But the moment he discovers that the city is in grave danger, he runs into trouble instead of finding Ivy and getting out of Dodge. The old Harley Quinn never used to do this, but she’s gone through some serious changes over the past few years. And no, he wasn’t able to solve the Riddler’s riddles by himself, but If not for Harley Quinn, Gotham would be a smoldering heap.
If that doesn’t prove that Harley Quinn is Bat-Family worthy, what will?
Harley Quinn is a lot. cookie absurd Unpredictable Admittedly, when it comes to Gotham’s vigilantes, he can’t always be trusted, especially since he’s still not above the occasional heist (only occasionally, though). But Harley still has shades of her old self pop up, she has undeniably changed for the better. He’s still not a ‘full’ member of the bat-family, though Harley Quinn saved Gotham when Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl couldn’t.. If that doesn’t prove that Harley Quinn is Bat-Family worthy, what will?
Of course, being a Bat-family member takes more than being a hero in Gotham. But Harley isn’t Gotham’s other colorful costume. He is someone who genuinely cares about the well being of the city and its people. Is he a little off sometimes? yes But at the end of the day, he’s evolved to the point where he knows saving Gotham is a priority. Who knows if the Bat-Family will ever come calling on Harley QuinnBut such achievements prove that he really deserves the team.
Harley Quinn is the best choice for the next member of the Bat-family
Batman knows that Harley isn’t the same criminal sidekick he was all that time ago and knows that his heart is truly good. With the Bat-family being bigger than ever, it’s not a stretch to imagine that they might officially include him in the next few years. There’s no guarantee she’ll even join (Harley appreciates her freedom after all). But as long as Harley Quinn There, saving Gotham from such an apocalyptic situation, he proves that he is The bat-family material
