I can’t believe it Disney We hope to buy as this character Fantastic FourThe Human Torch. Throughout 2024, Disney and Marvel are collaborating to put some of animation’s most iconic characters in the shoes of famous superheroes. Now, after the success of Donald Duck as Thor and Wolverine, as well as the success of Minnie Mouse as Captain Marvel, a new crossover has been announced for 2025, and it’s probably the most interesting yet.
Marvel and Disney: What if…? Mickey and Friends became Fantastic Four #1 A new shot by Steve Behling, Riccardo Cecchi and Lorenzo Pastravicchio that will transform the Mickey Mouse gang into Marvel’s first family. It’s an interesting concept that would utilize the group’s most famous faces for the ultimate comic team-up. However, as much as Mickey, Donald and Minnie fit into their respective roles, Goofy seems out of place as the Human Torch.

Mickey’s greatest rival would fit the Human Torch’s personality better
Mortimer Mouse shares a lot with Johnny Storm
There’s no denying that Goofy was chosen as the Human Torch for the brand recognition of Mickey and his friends. However, if Disney had a chance to start over, I believe that Mickey’s greatest rival, Mortimer Mouse, would be a great face for the Human Torch. Although he and Mickey are technically enemies, his personality fits incredibly well with Johnny Storm in his early days on the team. He is cruel, arrogant and full of self-serving charisma, which goes well with the retelling of the Fantastic Four’s origins.
Goofy is beyond who he was in the mid-20th century when he was portrayed as an “everyman” for adult audiences.
Of course, that’s not to say that Goofy couldn’t be a decent human torch, especially since editor Mark Panicia expressed full confidence in the project that it would bring.”Marvel’s first family of souls is a story I can only describe as fantastic!“However, The fool feels like a gullible but lovable fool who makes mistakes in good faith. He’s much more than he was when he was portrayed as an “everyman” for adult audiences in the mid-20th century, so it would make sense to replace him with a character like Mortimer who fits the character of Johnny Storm a little closer.

Although Goofy is definitely the odd one out for this crossover team-up, The casting choices for the rest of The Fantastic Four feel much more inspired. Mr. is playing the role of Mickey. Fantastic is an obvious choice, as he is essentially the leader of his friends. Minnie doubles as an effective second-in-command, especially since she and Mickey are canonically a couple, just like Reed Richards and Susan Storm.
however, The best pick of the bunch is easily Donald Duck as The Thing. His anger fits the role of Ben Grimm perfectly, and it earned him the iconic catchphrase “iIt’s clobberin’ time!“Before jumping into battle.
Even with the odd choice to turn the moron into the Human Torch, So what…? Mickey and Friends became Fantastic Four #1 This could be a fun addition to Disney’s growing list of crossovers released over the past year. They create fun story ideas that appeal to both young and old, and this new one So what…? The comic will likely be no different. It’s hard to buy Disney A fool would make that claim believable The Human TorchBut it should still be a fun take Fantastic FourAnd it goes without saying how much the upcoming story might surprise fans.
