So me, opposite Angel of Death guys, I would grab them by the arm, walk them outside and say, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Landing a gig wasn’t a given, even after that Osegueda mixed up his name.He remembers writing letters King express his interest. “I knew Kerry never gave up. That’s why I threw my name in the hat. I just texted him and said. “Hey, just letting you know I know you’re up to something. I’m throwing my name in the ring.” Then I said: “Actually, put my throat in the ring.” His surprise. King replied, admitting that the thought had crossed his mind.
While other famous vocalists were reportedly considered for the role, Osegueda was determined to secure his place. Inspired by friends in the industry who unanimously advised him to go for it, he set his sights on proving himself worthy. “It just grew. I started singing better, to sing more powerfully and more confidently. And everything just fell into place.”
