Warning: Contains spoilers for Venom Battle: Spider-Man #2! During the ongoing conflict between Eddie and Dylan Brock, Earth is invaded by a swarm of symbiotes, aptly named. poison war. Both Eddie and Dylan believe that if the other has the Venom symbiote, they will usher in the end of the world, which is the catalyst for their conflict. However, the Venom War just got out of hand Introducing the final symbiote, the Arachniote. Thankfully, it’s not invincible, as Marvel reveals one of its weaknesses.
A preview for Venom War: Spider-Man #2, by Colin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and Greg Land. Peter Parker recovers the Venom symbioteWhich means she’s wearing classic black once again. Venom doesn’t want to bond with Eddie or Dylan, so he seeks refuge with Spider-Man, who is willing to wear the symbiote again until the conflict is resolved. However, the poison war The issue doesn’t end with Spider-Man and Jackpot (aka Mary Jane) battling Arachnid.
However, Venom fears Arachneote, and takes that fear to Spider-Man (in fact, Arachneote is a monster that even Black’s original King Null fears).Nothing ever survived his touch”, Jackpot is much more confident. Using technology developed by her boyfriend Paul, MJ launches an attack against the Arachneote and appears to have discovered the kaiju-symbiote’s weakness: a concentrated sonic/photon blast.
Spider-Man’s Mary Jane Combines 2 of the Symbiotes’ Biggest Weaknesses into 1 Attack
It’s well established in Marvel lore that the symbiote has two main weaknesses: fire and sound. Those two things always worked against Clint, no matter how powerful the symbiote was (with very few exceptions). Therefore, combining them into one powerful blast is basically a silver bullet to take down even a symbiote monster as cosmically powerful as an arachniote.
Photons emitted from MJ’s gauntlet will produce thermal radiation that reaches extremely high temperatures. At the same time, Jackpot will also generate a sonic frequency that will accompany the photon blast when it hits the arachniote. In other words, ‘fire’ and ‘sound’ are effectively being combined into one concentrated blast by Mary Jane (and Paul), which should be enough to take the Arachniote down for good.
Spider-Man’s ‘spider-family’ now has the perfect anti-venom weapon
Jackpot can take down any symbiote with his gauntlet, not just Arachniote!
After the arachniote is taken down by this perfect anti-symbiote attack, the weapon doesn’t seem to become unusable. That means the Spider-Family has ways to permanently defeat Clint – including Venom if he steps out of line. Arachniote was feared by Null himself, so if Jackpot could take it down with his photon/sonic blast weapon, he could take down any symbiote. And since Jackpot is actually MJ, he’s firmly in the spider-family (despite not being a spider-hero), meaning Spidey will always have someone to call during any symbiote emergency.
Of course, this is a preview of the introduction of a weapon that sounds like it could provide the perfect method of taking down any symbiote – including and especially the Arachniote – but the work isn’t done yet. Perhaps the Arachniote would prove stronger than the Condensation Blast containing Clintor’s only weakness, which would be truly terrifying. However, as it stands, it’s safe to say that Spider-Man and the Jackpot have their own silver bullet, and fans should be excited to see it in action during the run. poison war.
