Groove metal band Snot may be making a comeback in some way with the band’s guitarist Mikey Dolling teasing upcoming news. Isn’t it annoying when bands promise vague “news” to come? Just once, I want to clarify that the group’s news is that they summoned a demon to bring about the apocalypse. But the announcement about Snot is interesting given the band’s history.
For those who don’t know, Snot vocalist Lynn Straight he was tragically killed in 1998 in an accident when a truck collided with his car. At first, the surviving members of the group were reluctant to continue without Straitbut they eventually backtracked a bit. The band’s second album was in development at the time Strait death, ended with other singers of their friends’ groups, incl Serzh Tankyan of System of a Down, Jonathan Davis Corny, Fred Durst Limp Bizkit’s Max Cavalera of Soulfly and more. Since then, the group has had several dates with various vocalists Directly.
No details yet Dolling In an Instagram post yesterday, he simply wrote the words “Snot news coming soon” over a video of him playing his guitar. Speculation has already been rife with fans wondering if this could be another reunion tour, album re-release or even new music. If it’s new music or a tour, who will handle the vocal duties? There are a lot of questions that remain unanswered for now, but it’s sure to be exciting.
