Phil Elverum has shared another new song night palace his first new Mount Eerie solo album in six years. “I Saw Another Bird” is the third single he’s shared from the record, following “I Walk” and “Broom of Wind.” Listen to it below.

“Behind the Dry Grin of the Title (Continued Out A crow looked at me) there are huge feelings that open up,” Elverum said during the “I Saw Another Bird” discussion. “We are funny little people working on the ground, but above us are always lofty arrows. We can pause, rest, and resume the conversation with the great unknown. This song tells how by tapping your toes.’

Night palace arrives on November 1st via his own label, PW Elverum & Sun. Elverum’s previous full-length record as Mount Eerie was Lost Wisdom, Pt. 2:2019 joint LP with Julie Doiron. Around the start of the pandemic, Elverum revived the mics for the 2020 album Microphones 2020.
