This is no frills OG heavy metal. Feels like it sounds and hits like it. So many bands are trying to sound like this these days, and it’s always nice to have one of the old school bands show you how to do it authentically.

Next up, we have the late 90s/early 00s nü-metal cult Limp Bizkit, Linkin Parketc Korn merged and given a modern twist and some Spongebob references. Not something I ever expected to type, but here we are.
Stryper – When we were kings

The Boy now on Amazon
I have to admit that when I first started building this week’s entry I thought it would be kind of funny to post Striper immediately after Satanbut my insistence on alphabetizing the bands gave it away. Anyway, this is the band’s fifteenth album of Christian heavy metal. I know the religious angle puts some off, but what I’ve heard about these rips.
Winterfylleth – Imperial Horizon

On some black metal, as it only seems appropriate. The band’s first record in four years. Very atmospheric and dark. Just what you’d want from them.
