former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and current Pearl Jam touring guitarist Josh Klinehofer will stand trial in California for vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence.

Klinghoff’s charge stemmed from an incident on March 18, 2024, in which he struck Israel SanchezThe 47-year-old pedestrian, who was at the pedestrian crossing at the time of the accident. Sanchez was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Guitarist’s Lawyer Andrew BrettlerTMZ previously reported that Klinghoff cooperated with the authorities.

“This was a tragic accident. after Josh: Struck a pedestrian in an intersection, he immediately pulled over, called 911 and remained at the scene until police and emergency personnel arrived. He has fully cooperated with the authorities during the investigation.”

Klinhoff sued Sanchezin July for wrongful death and negligence.
