A brand new month means a brand new raid boss schedule to look forward to pokemon goAnd in October 2024, things are getting scary with the return of Origin Form Giratina and Darkrai in the 5-Star Raid Battle. Trainers will also be able to encounter Shiny Zamzaenta for the first time, so this is a great month for Shiny Legendary Pokemon hunters.
In addition to the legendary 5-star raid bosses, there will be four Mega Raid bosses to battle throughout the month, as well as several new Max Raid bosses, including the Galer-Region starter trio: Gruky, Scorbuny, and Soble. With so much to do, it’s a good idea to plan ahead and study the schedule so you know which Pokemon you want to battle and catch.
5-star raid boss in October 2024
Encounter three powerful legends and one mythical Pokemon
In October, you will be able to fight Zacian, Zamazenta, Origin Forme Giratina, and Darkrai 5-Star Raid Battle. This is the first Sword and Shield legend to appear pokemon go From 2022, so if you missed the last time, or you’re a new player, it’s a good idea to catch them while you can. Even better, shiny Zamazenta will now be available for lucky trainers to encounter.

A set of strong Steel-type Pokemon like Dialga, Metagross, and Xcadrille will serve you well when battling Jackian. pokemon go. As for the other 5-star raid bosses, they’re all vulnerable to Fairy-type attacks, so it’s a good idea to bolster your collection with Fairy-type Pokemon like Enamoras, Zernius, Gardevoir, Togekiss, Hatterin, and Sylveon.
As a nice bonus, if you manage to catch a Jasian early in the month, you can use it as a nice counter to Zamazenta, Origin Forme Giratina, and Darkrai. Make sure all your counters know their typing’s complementary attacks

Throughout October, there will be four mega raid bosses for you. The first is Mega GardevoirA crossover from last month’s schedule, follows Mega Blaziken, Mega Sablie and Mega Bannet. The next two mega raid bosses are symbolic of the Halloween celebrations that are here to stay pokemon go At the end of the month.

Mega Sablie might be the trickiest Mega Raid boss this month, as it only has one weakness, and that’s Fairy-type attacks. There aren’t a huge number of powerful fairy-type attackers to choose from pokemon goBut standouts include Enamorus, Xernius, Gardevoir, Togekis, Haterin, and Sylvion. Make sure they have Fairy-type attacks and are as high powered as you can get them.
Mega Raid Bosses are some of the strongest opponents you will ever face

. It won’t be possible to beat them by yourself, so if you want to win, you’ll need to team up with other trainers. I would recommend having at least six high-level trainers in your lobby before going into this battle.
Also be careful while taking Mega Bannet. While it may be tempting to use powerful Ghost-type Pokemon like Giratina, Gengar, and Chandelure, it’s important to remember that Ghost-type Pokemon are generally vulnerable to Ghost-type attacks. This means they won’t last very long on the battlefield if Mega Bannet uses Ghost-type moves. If possible, take strong Dark-type Pokemon into battle.
Max Raid Boss in October 2024
Galler-region starter trio will be able to dynamax
Following on from the Kanto-region starter trio, it’s time for the Galar-region starter trio to get their turn in the Dynamax spotlight. The following Pokemon will appear in Max Raid Battles throughout October 2024:
- Grookey
- Score Buny
- soble
- The phalanx
A fifth Max Raid boss will also appear sometime in October, but their identity has not yet been revealed. With the exciting two-part Halloween event happening at the end of the month, it could be something scary… but for now, we’ll just have to wait for Niantic to confirm which Pokemon are getting the Dynamax treatment next.

Shadow Raid Boss in October 2024
A legendary Pokemon becomes a shadowy raid boss
By October, you will be able to pick up Chaya Entei Battle Shadow Campaign. These special Shadow Raids will take place every weekend throughout the month, so make sure you set aside some time to battle this legendary Shadow Pokemon if you want to add it to your collection. Note that Remote Raid Pass cannot be used for Shadow Raid.
Like its non-Shadow counterpart, Shadow Entei is a Fire-type Pokemon. It means Vulnerable to Ground, Rock, and Water-type attacks. Some of the best counters you can use to take on Shadow Entee pokemon go Primal Grodon, Primal Kyogre, Mega Swampert, Mega Blastoise, Landorus, Garchomp, Greninja, Ryperior and Terrakion.
Finally, if you’re planning on taking part in Shadow Raids, remember that you’ll need quite a few Pure Gems to calm them down from their powerful enraged state. Pure Gems are automatically formed when you collect four Shadow Shards. These are eliminated from Team GO Rocket members as well as shadow raid bosses when defeated pokemon go.
