Star Wars The brand new canon introduced an outrageous number of recons into the game with very little detail Star Wars AliensAnd it creates an untold story Star Wars Movies and TV shows Absolutely fascinating to me. in particular, Outlaw sure When Mandalor was purifiedThis is placed around 3 BBY. This means that this tragic incident took place almost a year ago Return of the Jedi in Canon Star Wars timeline.
This surprising information has changed several things Star Wars story, starting with Ahsok Tano’s whereabouts are in Aadi Star Wars Trilogy tone Its last rewrite Star Wars Rebels. However, these updates also raised massive questions Star Wars universe, particularly regarding the events associated with the original trilogy. in particular, New information is provided Outlaw raises serious questions about the purity of MandaloreA leading Star Wars The story I am absolutely desperate to see on screen.
Why did the Empire bomb Mandalore… when the Mandalorians weren’t in the Rebel Alliance?
The Great Purge of Mandalore, also referred to as the Night of a Thousand Tears, was first mentioned The Mandalorian Season 1, and it’s gotten more fleshed out since then Boba Fett’s book And Ahsoka. The horrific event was a brutal attack on Mandalore by the Empire, with a death toll estimated to be in the millions. However, this attack, especially given the extent of its destruction, is surprising.
Notably, The attack targeted the entire planet of Mandalore, yet the Mandalorians were not primarily allied with the Rebels.. Yes, there were obviously Mandalorians who fought the Rebels (Sabine Wayne being a very prominent example), but there were also plenty of Mandalorians who supported the Empire. In fact, Sabine herself first worked for the Empire, attending the Imperial Academy on Mandalore. For the most part, though, the Mandalorians remained neutral during the Galactic Civil War.
For the most part, though, the Mandalorians remained neutral during the Galactic Civil War.
This makes this terrible attack even more shocking. Presumably, Mandalorian would not be a priority for the Empire as they were working to suppress the rebellion. However, as it seems Star Wars The Purge of Mandalore story is changing in canon. After all, in this information Outlaw Not only offers a brand new insight into the tragedy but also presents a complete retcon.
In AhsokaThe Purge of Mandalore took place shortly after the Emperor’s death and was time-stamped as being linked to Palpatine’s disturbingly sinister Operation: Cinder, a contingency plan intended to wipe out multiple planets, including those originally loyal to the Empire, following Palpatine, however, dead. now, Outlaw Suggesting that the Purge took place about a year before Palpatine died, it is questionable whether it is really connected to Operation: Cinder at all..
How did an Imperial Moff get such powerful command of military assets?
The Purification of Mandalore also extends beyond Palpatine’s story, viz The Mandalorian Moff Gideon is also revealed to have been a key player in this horrific attack. in particular, The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 7, confirmed that Moff Gideon was the one who launched the attack on Mandalore. Actually, that’s how Moff Gideon got it The iconic Mandalorian Darksaber.
Early in the Purge, Bo-Katan Kryze actually met with Moff Gideon, trying to end the attack before it did too much damage. Bo-Katan even offered to surrender, and despite tricking Bo-Katan into believing they reached a truce, Moff Gideon betrayed him and carried out the massacre. Besides revealing how sinister Moff Gideon was, it also came as a big surprise.
Muff to Ace, It’s more than a little shocking that Gideon would have the agency to destroy a planet militarily. Operation: In light of Cinder, if Moff Gideon was carrying out an order from the posthumous Emperor Palpatine, that would almost certainly explain Gideon’s ability to make this call. However, given how scrambled Outlaw Created this timeline, it is unclear if that was the case or if Gideon really had agency in this situation.
Given how scrambled
Outlaw
Created this timeline, it is unclear if that was the case or if Gideon really had agency in this situation.
Addressing this question is certainly interesting and will need to be explored in the future Star Wars Stories, perhaps upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu movie In particular, there is one Star Wars Its touching story which I am very much interested in. in particular, D Ahsoka The show reveals that Sabine Ren blames Ahsoka Tano for the Purge. However, it’s unclear why Sabin would keep it to Ahsoka, especially in light of this new timeline.
Why did Sabine blame Ahsoka for removing Mandalore?
Ahsoka Revealing to surprised viewers (myself included) that Sabine Ren became Ahsoka Tanor’s Jedi Padawan the rebel And AhsokaDespite not revealing force-sensitivity before the new show. however, Ahsoka Also proving that the pair of former masters and apprentices clearly didn’t have an easy time, as Sabin ultimately didn’t finish his training and there seemed to be some bitterness between the two sides. Interestingly, though, Ahsoka Part of the reason this master and apprentice duo developed bad blood is due to the cleansing of Mandalore.
It is strongly indicated Ahsoka Sabine partially blames Ahsoka for what happened, suggesting that Sabine had some forewarning or premonition of what was about to happen on Mandalore, but for whatever reason, Ahsoka didn’t listen or act. Given Sabine’s status as a Jedi Padawan at the time, there are many reasons why Ahsoka could ignore warnings about such an event. For one, given Ahsoka’s history with Anakin Skywalker in particular, it’s possible that she was concerned that her Padawan was acting out of fear alone—dangers that Ahsoka herself had seen.
Given Ahsoka’s history with Anakin Skywalker, it is possible that she was concerned that her Padawan was acting out of fear alone.
Related to that concern, Ahsoka may have chosen not to act because Sabine’s fear was undoubtedly linked to attachment. After all, Sabine’s family was on Mandalore at the time, and sadly, they died in the Purge. This would certainly explain Sabine’s animosity towards his former master. Presumably, Sabine blames Ahsoka for her family’s death.
Still, that’s just speculation, which makes me more interested Star Wars To tell this story. In part, why the cleansing of Mandalore drove a wedge between Sabine and Ahsoka may clear up the now rather confusing timeline. Furthermore, it will more fully address why Sabine and Ahsoka split up and what Ahsoka’s role in the massacre on Mandalore might have been. possibly forthcoming Ahsoka Season 2 will finally reveal the extended Star Wars Questions regarding Mandalo’s Purification.
