“I wrote this song after a few months Roe v. Wade: flipped,” Nix said in “The Lighthouse.” He continued.

It seemed like overnight people were saying “what can we as a collective force do about this…” For me it was songwriting. It took a while because I was on the road. Then one morning I was watching the news and the news anchor said something like she was talking to me ~ explaining what the loss of Roe v Wade meant wrote the song the next morning and recorded it the same night.

That was September 6, 2022. I’ve been working on it ever since. “This may be the most important thing I’ve ever done. To stand up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters and those who love them.”

This is an anthem.

Nix wrote “The Lighthouse” with Magnus Birgersson and Vincent Wilois. He produced it with Dave Cobb and Sheryl Crow, the latter of whom also plays bass and guitar on the track.

Nicks was recently announced as the musical guest for the October 12 episode Saturday Night Livewhich will be hosted by Ariana Grande. The evening will mark Nicks’ first appearance on the show since 1983.
