The suffering of friendship Bassist and vocalist Ahren Stringer left the band’s North American tour in May 2024. Stringer said he was “dropped from the tour without warning” while The suffering of friendship contradicted his statement saying that the eviction had taken place Stringer‘s own “mental health and well-being”. The suffering of friendship later noted that Stringer would be “to return to Australia to address his addiction and get the support he needs”.

Stringer has now provided an update to fans saying he will be rejoining The suffering of friendship for their upcoming Australian tour dates and will take a break in 2025.

“I know you all have been waiting and thinking about the future of the group and my work. First I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unfailing support and kind words of encouragement. I am so proud to share it. I am happy, sober and thriving.

“What about the plans? The suffering of friendship. I will definitely be performing at the Big Pineapple Music Festival and on the upcoming Australian tour. However, after these shows I will be taking some much needed annual leave from the band during 2025 to focus on my continued personal growth, considering my future with the band and spending more quality time with the people I love.

“Be sure The suffering of friendship has my full support to continue touring during my absence. Jonathan Reeves he will play for me and I have every confidence that he will put on an incredible performance for all of you.

“Thank you very much for your understanding and support.

“Looking forward to seeing you all and giving my best friendship shows we’ve ever played. Your energy and support means the world to me and I look forward to sharing this experience with you.”
