Originally known as Joe Collins, the Joker in this story, along with his lover, Maria, rebelled against Bruce’s tyranny, only to be captured and tested for use in his religiously manipulative game of judgment and control. Becomes the Joker after laser surgery alters his memory and alters his face, Joe gradually regains aspects of his former self throughout the storyAnd after finding inspiration from the original Batman’s Batcave, Maria falls off a skyscraper and helps kill Bruce, thus becoming the new Dark Knight in the process.
What sets this one-and-done story apart from others that make the Joker a hero is that he actually becomes Batman, bat symbol and all, rather than the equally well-known heroic version of his clown persona. Effectively unleashing this Joker completes his original Rebel mission to take down Bruce for goodBoth Joe and Maria, now acting as Robin to Joe’s Batman, are able to wipe out his influence across the city, killing the concept of his Bat-cult while ensuring that Batman’s true legend and legacy lives on.

To complete his transformation into Batman, The Joker wears his own set of superhero spandex with a large outlined bat logo and smile utility belt.Mariah’s turn as Robin seals the Bat-deal, giving Gotham City new hope in this future. It’s unlikely that the Joker will ever be good in official DC continuity – he was momentarily “normal” during 2015. Batman: Super Heavy Story arc after he loses his memory – but it will be interesting to see if he ever does the joker will follow batmanIts heroic footprint, or simply become its own unique crime-fighter.
