Recently in a conversation with the Czech Republic Project Backstage, Max: and: Igor “Iggor” Cavalera opened up about reviewing the early days the grave through their new project, Cavalier. While the duo continues to release fresh material under Cavalera conspiracythey chose to record again the graveearly work under a separate banner, Cavalier. The reasoning? It’s about honoring their past while keeping their music alive in new ways.
Igor: explained (as transcribed Blabbermouth“Well, it’s actually kind of simple, but it can also be a little confusing if you’re just gathering the stuff and reading. But the way I look at it, and it makes sense to me. that Cavalera conspiracyme and Max:we write brand new songs and then back Cavalierwe do these recordings and then perform them live. So they are not like completely different projects. They are the same project, but maybe they are different faces of the same project.”
“And in a sense, in the end, everything Cavalier – from the beginning the graveit has always been about me and Max:. So Cavalier is the soul of the whole thing. And there’s a bit of mutation in there, along with it Conspiracy of Cavalera and: Cavalier with re-recordings and a live show. So it can be a little confusing, but at the end of the day, it’s pretty simple,” he added.
Max: echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the core of what they do has remained the same ever since the grave Days. “All this is from the same root. It comes from the same spirit we had. And most importantly, the coolest thing is the spirit of the original. the grave is back here Cavalier. I think the fans feel it the most. And I think that’s the biggest thing that we have is that what they wanted to feel is what we had in the soul and spirit of the original. the grave. And we do that with this, mostly Cavalierbecause we can play the grave material Cavalera conspiracywe have to make new music, which we will continue to do in the future.”
Despite the name and format changes, the brothers see themselves as continuing the same legacy they started decades ago. after the graveThe classic lineup split up in 1996, with Max:the departure of and in the end Igor: leaving in 2006, the brothers regrouped and formed Cavalera conspiracy.
Now, with both projects, the brothers aim to keep that spirit alive with no plans to slow down. Ass Max: put it on “We plan to rock for a long time. No one has pension plans. They don’t exist. I don’t know what it is. We are rockers, lifers, as they say.”
