reissue of Tom Petty and: The Heartbreakers1982 album Long After Darkwill be released on October 18. The remastered LP features 12 bonus tracks, including seven previously unreleased tracks. To accompany the reissue, the Petty Legacy archives will share a series of unearthed songs and videos from 1982-83 over the coming weeks. Among the bonus tracks are some that Petty wanted to appear on the album itself, according to a press release. “Some music has been recorded Long After Dark it didn’t make it onto the record, which I thought would have made it a better album,” Petty was quoted as saying. “I left… four things that I quite liked. And probably a few more were written that never made it to the door.” Line notes for the reprint come from David Frick, with commentary by Jimmy Iovine and Cameron Crowe.
