Immortal is back with another raging rage in the form of ‘Controversial Malignancy’. The single comes with a music video which is animated Hayden Hall.
“It was actually one of the last songs written for the album,” he said Immortal vocalist Alexander Jones from the single. “Step: [Beam, guitarist] had a very rough demo of it on his phone which I heard him listening to while we were there sign‘s studio is doing pre-production and it wasn’t until after I heard that I knew it had to be on the record no matter what.
“Thematically, it’s kind of Piercing from the insideto: suffocation is meeting Bloodborne Lore vibe, and it’s definitely the closest we’ve got to a “fake god/religion” song lyrically, which is kind of new territory for us. It’s fast as fast, bouncy and has a killer one-on-one fight that I absolutely love.”
