former DevilDriver: guitarist Mike Spreitzer recently introduced his new band On the Venus of Verona. Spreitzer has since expanded the lineup with a five-piece featuring exDevilDriver: drummer Austin D’Ammond (Chimaira) and guitarist Neil Thiemann (Carnifex) next to the guitarist Lucas Canopa (Audition) and enigmatic bassist Wow!.

On the Venus of Verona are now streaming their new single ‘Pretty’ produced by Spreitzerand mixed and assimilated Lasse Lammert. If you’re looking for a great slow burn goth jam for October, this should be on your playlist.

“Pretty” is a dark love song about a hypothetical scenario where a couple, captivated by each other, abandon their faith in humanity, witness the loss of civilization and live happily ever after as the last two people on Earth. Spreitzer.

“The idea was inspired by an experiment called Space 25, where rats compared their behavior in a high-density environment and a low-density environment. Rats have shown how overpopulation can lead to social decay, aggression and population decline. This process is known as “behavioral sink”.

Spreitzer to leave DevilDriver: saying in September of this year that he wanted to become a full-time musician again. Spreitzer will find out later On the Venus of Verona became a subject of controversy between himself and DevilDriver: vocalist Dez Fafaraas a result of which he left.
