in a recent conversation with Metal hammer, HammerFall’s frontman Joachim Kahns clarified that the band does not identify with the “power metal” label often attached to their music. Canned foods explains that the term “power metal” is “an American form of traditional heavy metal, especially if it wasn’t produced in the 80s”. He emphasizes the band’s commitment to classic heavy metal, stating: “We’re as traditional as it gets. I think heavy metal is enough because within the limits of heavy metal you can do a lot of things.”
Canned foods Also delved into his personal history, discussing his time studying music in Hollywood. Originally from Sweden, he moved to the United States at the age of 23 to study music. However, his experience was not as positive as one might expect.
